Ilkhom Mamatkulovich Khalilov defended his PhD thesis in biological sciences in 1999. Since 2000, he has been conducting research at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where he served as a senior researcher.
In 2008, he was awarded the academic rank of Senior Researcher. Since 2020, he has served as Head of the Laboratory at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From 2022 to 2024, he conducted postdoctoral research at Ben-Gurion University in Israel.
In 2024, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences (DSc).
Over the course of his scientific career, he has authored more than 140 scientific publications. Alongside his research activities, he provides scientific and methodological guidance to young specialists and researchers.
He possesses a good command of both Russian and English.

K. Davranov’s scientific activity focuses on the isolation, evaluation, and practical application of products obtained through microbiological synthesis. In particular, his research encompasses the purification of microbial enzymes such as lipase, protease, amylase, cellulase, glucose isomerase, and nitrile hydratase, the characterization of their properties and potential applications, as well as the purification and identification of natural low-molecular-weight metabolites and the investigation of their biogenesis and biosynthetic regulation mechanisms. In addition, his research is directed towards the development and practical application of microbial preparations based on environmentally resistant microorganisms that, within the “microbe-soil-plant” system and under specific conditions, can promote plant growth and development, increase crop yield and quality, and enhance soil fertility.

Senior Researcher, Doctor of Biological Sciences Nigora Aktamovna Rustamova conducts research focused on plant-associated endophytic microorganisms, their secondary metabolites, and biological activities. Her research primarily involves the isolation of endophytic bacteria and fungi from medicinal plants, characterization of their diversity, discovery and chemical characterization of biologically active secondary metabolites, as well as the investigation of microbial biotransformation processes.

Particular attention in her research is devoted to the identification of natural compounds exhibiting antimicrobial, cytotoxic, and other biological activities, as well as to the evaluation of promising microorganisms as potential producers of bioactive substances for applications in biotechnology, pharmacology, and medicinal chemistry.

Azimova Nodira - Her research focuses on the identification of phytopathogenic microorganisms affecting agricultural crops, the selection of effective antagonistic microorganisms for their control, and the development of environmentally safe biological plant protection agents. Her scientific activities include the investigation of the biological properties of phytopathogenic and antagonistic microorganisms, as well as the development of effective biopreparations for agricultural applications based on these microorganisms.
