Leading scientists from the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. Cheng Gao, whose research focuses on “Mycobiome & Ecosystem Functioning”, and Dr. Jing Han, specializing in “Engineered halophiles as promising chassis strains for polyhydroxyalkanoates production”, paid an official visit to the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the parties discussed issues related to the study of microbial diversity, enrichment of microbial collections, identification of new strains with high biotechnological potential, and assessment of their practical applications.
The participants also reached agreements on conducting joint research aimed at isolating promising microorganisms, studying their genomic and metabolic characteristics, and exploring their applications in ecology, agriculture, and industrial biotechnology.
This visit will contribute to strengthening scientific cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, promoting innovative research in microbiology and biotechnology, and expanding the collection of microorganisms with significant biotechnological potential.
